Multiple Player Faro Game

This is an update to the Faro Game that I wrote. It allows for up to eight players to play the game. The basic gameplay is similar to the single-player mode with the following exceptions/additions. The instructions for the single-player game are here.

Starting

Enter number of players

Enter each players name

After players entered the faro layout is displayed. Changes from the single-player game:

  • New buttons
    • Change player, and Next player buttons

Change player opens a pop-up with a button for each player. Click on the player button for the player you want to be active. Active players can set their bets.

  • The Next player button simply moves to the next player making them the active player. The active player is shown on the screen, along with their current bank.
  • The Turn Number indicator is now a button. After a deal, clicking on the button will display the win/lose/push status for each players bets on that turn. It only shows bets that were affected by the deal.
  • Next Player button on the Turn History and Bet popups.

The Next player button will cycle through the players as the popup window is displayed. Note that the Player name is displayed and also that the Deal button (that was on the single-player version) has been removed from these popups.

Other changes

The current high score feature has been removed.

Game play

After starting the game and entering the number of players and their names each player enters bets on the layout. The active player’s name is shown on the board above the betting layout. That player places their bets by clicking on the layout spots. When a spot is clicked, the bet popup appears and the bet amount can be entered. Then the popup can either be closed (by clicking on the layout or using the X button) and another bet entered by clicking on another spot.

When the active player is done with entering their bets they can click the next player button on the popup or close the popup and click the next player button on the main page.

After all players have entered their bets the Deal button is clicked to deal the turn.

After a deal, the results can be shown by either clicking on the Turn # button, or by using the Turn History buttons.

This sequence of placing bets and dealing turns is continued until the last turn.

Calling the turn

On the 25th turn each player will have the opportunity to place a bet on the last three cards. Each player will be prompted to enter their bet:

Betting is the same as in the single-player game. After all players have entered their bets an alert box will be shown.

Clicking Ok with show the results:
