Let&#8217;s see if that\u2019s possible. And you\u2019ll say how many times to deal to it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2714\ufe0f Row and Column Definitions:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Top row: piles 1 &amp; 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Bottom row: piles 3 &amp; 4<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Left column: piles 1 &amp; 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Right column: piles 2 &amp; 4<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd04 Example Dealing Round:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cYou pointed to pile 1 and said \u2018column, 3 times\u2019? That means we\u2019re dealing to the left column.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Deal three pairs (total of 6 cards):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">First pair: one card to pile 1, one to pile 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Second pair: again<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Third pair: again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2705 <strong>Order within each pair doesn\u2019t matter<\/strong>\u2014pile 3 first or pile 1 first is fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Repeat until all cards in the deck are dealt (you&#8217;ll use 24 total pairs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udc40 Step 4: Point Out Pile Differences<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Say:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cNow we can see that some piles have more cards than others\u2014that\u2019s entirely from your choices.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Spread the pile with <strong>the fewest cards<\/strong> y <strong>the one with the most<\/strong>, to emphasize this randomness.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Then square up both piles neatly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">If you want, you can let the spectator shuffle each pile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83c\udfaf Step 5: Spectator Selects a Pile<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Say:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cPoint to any one pile and look at the top card. That\u2019s your card. Remember it, don\u2019t tell me.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udcda Step 6: Bury the Card with Grid Logic<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Identify the <strong>row and column<\/strong> that include the chosen pile. There are <strong>two other piles<\/strong> involved.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Example: if pile 1 is chosen (top-left), then:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Top row = piles 1 &amp; 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Left column = piles 1 &amp; 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Other piles = piles 2 and 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Pick up the two other piles (row &amp; column piles not including the chosen pile) and drop them <strong>on top<\/strong> of the chosen pile.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Then drop this combined pile <strong>on top of the remaining 4th pile<\/strong> (the one not involved yet).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">This should be done in a careless manner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cWe\u2019ll collapse this grid into a single pile, keeping everything buried just the way you set it up.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Now you have <strong>the full deck<\/strong> in one stack, with the <strong>spectator\u2019s card in a known position<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udd00 Step 7: The Faro Shuffle (Controlled Mix)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Say:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cYou made all the choices. You shuffled. You dealt. You picked the card. And still\u2026 I\u2019ll find it. In fact, I\u2019ll shuffle it up even more first.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Perform a <strong>perfect in-faro shuffle<\/strong> (in-shuffle: first card stays on bottom, top card ends up second).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">After the in-faro, say:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cAnd yet, despite your random choices, I still know exactly where your card is\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83c\udccf Step 8: Reveal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Flip over the <strong>top card of the deck<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Dramatic pause.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"\"><em>\u201cIs that your card?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">\u2714\ufe0f It is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have to admit that I am a Facebook user.
