This one is good for practicing your second deal.

Begin with secretly having the four aces on top of the deck. I typically have the spectator shuffle the deck, and then use my two-step cull to get the aces on top. Riffle or overhand shuffle to add eight more cards on top of the deck. I usually use two riffle shuffles to add four cards at a time.

Now you are set to deal to the first ace, which you can do by dealing 15 cards down as follows. Deal the first eight cards, and then three of the aces, and then three seconds. Deal the last ace down. You then turn up the last card to show the ace, and move it to the side.

You can then show the next card that is on top of the un-dealt cards, and the top card of the dealt cards, showing them to be indifferent cards. Place the dealt cards back on top. The next three aces are the 4th, 5th, and 6th cards from the top.

Shuffle, adding three cards on top of the stock so that the aces are now 7th, 8th, and 9th. Then deal down eight cards fairly, followed by three second deals and then the second ace. I will usually slide the last card dealt, the ace, face down to the side and then show the previous card dealt and the next card that would have been dealt, showing them to be indifferent cards. I turn those cards back face down and then show the ace.

Replace the dealt cards back on top of the un-dealt cards in your left hand. The last two aces are now 4th, and 5th cards from the top. At this point I usually do an in-the-hands false cut (https://robertjwallace.com/false-cut-4-stepladder-cut/.)

Deal four cards down and then three seconds, and then the ace. Repeat the display to the previous and next cards, and then show the third ace.

Replace the dealt cards to the top of the deck.

Get a break under the top two cards. Ask the spectator for a number between one and ten. If they name three to ten you can deal down to the last ace at that number. For three, deal twice and then a second. Four, just deal fairly to the ace. Five to ten, deal three and then deal seconds.

If they name two, I simply say, “OK I will cut the deck twice then”, and double cut the two cards above the break to the bottom leaving the last ace second from the top. I can then “deal” down to it by dealing the top card and then seconds.

If they name one, I smile and say “let’s make it a bit harder”, or the classic “I said between one and ten.” I then finish as above.

Note that with the exception of the last ace, you always deal just three second deals. This is good practice for keeping a consistent rhythm in your deal. It is also good practice for “Blind deals keeping the top stock” from “Expert at the Card Table.”

Another “find the aces” trick.
