Here I am cutting to the break. When done, the selection will be on top

What I do instead is when the spectator returns their card to the middle of the deck, I make certain the lower half of the deck (with their card) is squared up and I dribble the remaining half on top. By tilting the right hand cards so the front is lower than the rear, the front edge of the cards will hit the lower half in-jogged and that in-jog will remain as the rest of the cards are dribbled. The left hand tilts downward at the completion of the dribble and the top cards will slide forward. Note how open the left hand is at the completion of the dribble.

The right hand comes to the deck to square the cards up and easily lifts up on the in-jog with the right thumb and takes a break above the selection with the left little finger.

Now immediately the left little finger side jogs the card above it as the right hand takes the cards. The right hand then dribbles the cards to the table. The side jogged card will remain side jogged.

When the right hand picks up the deck from the table it grasps the cards from the ends and places them in the left hand. I push the cards against the base of the left thumb to straighten them, but leaves the side jogged card side jogged.

The left fingers easily find the side jogged card and takes a break below it. Now I perform the double undercut to bring the selection to the top of the deck.

I have always liked the double cut control for its simplicity and directness.
