Although, done properly and with the spectators at the right angle this is an excellent cut that closely mimics a single fair cut.

Cutting the deck when it is held in the left hand normally would entail the right hand cutting off about half of the deck from the top and dropping it to the table, then coming back for the rest of the cards and taking them and dropping them on the table.

This false cut mimics that action, but instead of taking the top half the the deck, the right first finger lifts about half the cards and kicks them into the left thumb crotch as the right middle finger and thumb take the bottom half the the deck.

The left hand rotates clockwise, palm downward to move the cards out of the way as the right hand drops its cards to the table. The left hand rotates the deck back to a horizontal position as the right hand returns to take those cards and drop them to the table.

From the left side it is totally invisible as the left hand screens the cards. Done causally it will look good from other angles.

Once you have the timing down a variation is to a one handed spin cut in the left hand, holding a break between the two halves as the cut completes. The right hand comes and takes the cards above the break and drops them to the table. Coming back to the deck you do the false cut described above with the remaining half of the deck, creating the illusion of a triple cut.

Below is a short video showing both cuts.

There is a simple false cut that I like to do on off beats, those times when the spectator attention is not riveted on the deck.
